Acequia Madre GWE’s Dream Come True!

In the fall of 2013, Acequia Madre ‘s Global Warming Express set the goal to get their school solarized before the fifth graders in the group graduated.

On the night before their graduation,in May 2015, the SFPS Board voted to approve and fund the project. This Big Goal taught the GWEers research, math, communication and critical thinking skills and helped them to learn to be tenacious, clear headed and persistent. One year after the approval, the Acequia Madre Solar Shade Structure is complete! None of this would not have happened without Lisa Randall,Will MacDonald and Positive Energy Solar,  who supported the GWE and the GWEers every step of the way.  Kudos to all. Kids change the world!
