Chasing Ice Benefit at CCA

On December 14, 2014, The Global Warming Express held a benefit screening of the film Chasing Ice at the Center for Contemporary Arts as part of Citizens’ Climate Lobby’s Climate Sunday series. Chasing Ice director and producer Jeff Orlowski made a special appearance, and following the film participated in a panel discussion with GWEers Helen Harrison and Marina Weber, Mayor Javier Gonzales, and scientist and activist Richard Cramer.

This screening was the first time that Mayor Gonzales and many of the audience members had seen the film. Mr. Orlowski spoke eloquently, saying that through studying the ice, the case for human-caused climate change becomes evident: the retreat of the glaciers is dramatically documented in the film.

After the event, Mr. Orlowski signed film posters of Chasing Ice and the GWEers gave the children in attendance GWE T-shirts.
